Excellent tour of Fes Medina, a maze of streets and alleys. Doing this tour on my first day in Fes helped me work out how the medina is organised and get my bearings for the rest of my stay. Rahim Abdou is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide and passionate about his city. He pointed out and explained the main highlights of the medina which allowed me to pick what to come back to. Other than the tannery visit, he didn’t take us to any particular shops. Going through one of the shops surrounding the tannery is the only way of viewing the workings the tannery from above. There was no pressure at all to buy anything. Highly recommend this tour.

Rahim Abdou’s tour of the medina, and more, was a highlight during our time in Fes. The medina tour was excellent, with Rahim providing historical and architectural context to all the sights. As a Fes native, and one who lived within the medina, the narrow, windy streets and alleyways were easily navigated by Rahim. He also seemingly knows everyone, and was always shaking hands and saying hello to shop owners and passerbys throughout. Rahim was kind enough to expand his itinerary and included a stop at a northern viewpoint for an overall panoramic view of Fes, as well as a stop at the pottery and mosaic tile workshop (the Mosaique et Poterie De Fes was fantastic – we came back the next day to spend more time, and money, at the shop). The tour met expectations, and we experienced all the sights, sounds, colors, and smells that the medina offers. We enjoyed our time with Rahim and learning about the medina and Fes, and highly recommend his tour.

I can’t say enough about Abdul. He’s the best tour guide ever! We were a private group of 6 from 45-80yrs. He did a great job of adjusting to our slower pace and gave us the options of going in or not at various sites. This was not a shopping trip but rather a tour of the Medina detailing the history and the culture with anecdotes and stories. After being given a tour of the hammam, I made an appointment for later in the day. He dropped me off on the way back to the riad and then joined the rest of the group for a late lunch. This was booked as a half day tour but he spent a couple extra hours with us. He was raised in the Media and indeed, everyone seemed to know him. He said they referred to him as the mayor and I can certainly believe it. He is a fountain of information and a caring, kind, tour guide. Because of Abdou, this was one of the high points of our week in Morocco.
