From the Gjirokastër Regional Bus Station, located in the lower part of the new town, the Old Town is approximately a 30-minute uphill walk. Follow the main road towards the city center and then continue uphill, following signs for the Old Town or 'Kalaja' (Castle). Be prepared for steep, cobblestone streets. Taxis are available from the bus station for around 300-400 Lek.
