Walking
The Mirador del Fitz Roy is accessed via a well-marked trail from El Chaltén. Begin at the north end of Avenida San Martín, where the town ends and the parking area for the Laguna de los Tres trail begins. Follow the Sendero al Fitz Roy trail. The first 3km are a moderate uphill climb. After approximately one hour of hiking, you'll reach a marked junction. Continue straight, following signs for 'Laguna de los Tres'. The Mirador del Fitz Roy is located a short distance further along this trail. There are no entrance fees to access the trail from El Chalten, but as of October 2024, there is a fee of $45,000 ARS for international visitors to enter Los Glaciares National Park. This fee can be paid online or at the ranger station.

Public Transport
While there is no direct public transportation to the Mirador del Fitz Roy, you can take a bus from El Calafate to El Chaltén. Several bus companies operate this route, including Chaltén Travel and Caltur. The bus journey takes approximately 3 hours and costs between $35,000 and $42,000 ARS. From the El Chalten bus terminal, walk north on Avenida San Martín to reach the trailhead for the Laguna de los Tres hike and follow the 'Walking' guidance above. The bus will make a stop at the park service where you will receive a map.
