From the town center of El Chaltén, head north on Avenida San Martín towards the trailhead for Laguna de los Tres. The trail is well-marked. Follow the signs for Laguna de los Tres / Fitz Roy. After approximately 1.5 hours of hiking, you'll reach a fork in the trail. Take the right path, which leads to Mirador del Fitz Roy. The mirador is about 4 km (2.5 miles) from El Chaltén, approximately a 1-hour walk. There is now an entrance fee to access the trails in El Chalten. Prices are ARS 45,000 for non-nationals.

While there is no direct public transportation to Mirador del Fitz Roy, you can take a bus from El Chaltén to the trailhead for Laguna de los Tres.
