Getting There

  • Shuttle Bus

    From Grand Canyon Village, take the free Hermit Road Shuttle (Red Route). The shuttle operates from March 1st to November 30th and is the only way to access Hermit Road during this time. Maricopa Point is the second stop on the Hermit's Rest Route. The shuttle is free, and buses arrive frequently. Check the park's website for the current schedule. The shuttle is wheelchair accessible.

  • Walking

    From Grand Canyon Village, follow the paved Rim Trail west. The walk to Maricopa Point is approximately 1.2 miles from the Bright Angel Trailhead. The trail offers scenic views and is relatively easy. The path between Maricopa Point and Trailview Overlook is paved and slightly downhill. Be aware that the trail can be icy in colder weather.

Maricopa Point, a promontory along the South Rim's Hermit Road, presents visitors with unparalleled 180-degree views of the Grand Canyon.
