Getting There

    From Grand Canyon Village, access the Rim Trail from various points near the Bright Angel Hotel or Verkamp's Visitor Center. Follow the paved path along the canyon rim, heading east towards South Kaibab Trailhead or west towards Hermits Rest. The trail is well-marked with signs indicating distances to various viewpoints and shuttle stops. No cost for walking the trail.

    From the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, take the free Blue/Village Route shuttle bus to stops near the Bright Angel Hotel or Verkamp's Visitor Center to access the Rim Trail. Alternatively, use the Orange/Kaibab Route to reach the South Kaibab Trailhead. The Red/Hermit Road Route provides access to the western section of the trail, with multiple stops along Hermit Road. Shuttle service is free within the park. Note that pets are not allowed on the shuttle bus.

    From Highway 64, enter Grand Canyon National Park. Parking is available in several lots near the Grand Canyon Visitor Center and Grand Canyon Village. Parking lots fill up quickly, especially during peak season, so arrive early or use the free shuttle bus. Limited parking is available near Bright Angel Lodge. A vehicle permit costs $35, valid for seven days and includes access to both the North and South Rims.
