From Kanab, Utah, drive south on US Highway 89A to Jacob Lake. The Kaibab Plateau Visitor Center is located in Jacob Lake at the junction of US 89A and AZ 67. From there, you can explore various viewpoints and trailheads along AZ 67 and connecting forest roads. Be aware that AZ 67, the main route to the North Rim, is typically closed from November to mid-May due to snow. Limited services are available on the plateau, so stock up on supplies in Jacob Lake or Fredonia. There are no fees for accessing the Kaibab Plateau, but entrance fees apply for the Grand Canyon National Park if you proceed to the North Rim.
