Walking
Start at the Sedona Visitor Center located at 331 Forest Rd, Sedona, AZ 86336. From the Visitor Center, head southwest on Forest Rd toward AZ-89A. When you reach AZ-89A, turn left and walk along the sidewalk for about 0.6 miles until you reach the traffic light at the intersection with AZ-179. Cross AZ-179 at the traffic light and continue walking straight. After about another 0.5 miles, you will see a sign for Fay Canyon Trail. Follow the path toward Fay Canyon Trailhead, which is approximately 0.3 miles from the main road.

If you have rented a bicycle, start at the Sedona Bike and Bean located at 101 E State Route 89A, Sedona, AZ 86336. From there, head east on AZ-89A for about 0.7 miles until you reach the traffic light at the intersection with AZ-179. Turn right onto AZ-179 and continue for 1 mile. Watch for the signs indicating the turnoff for Fay Canyon Trail. The trailhead is approximately 0.3 miles down this road. Make sure to follow the bike lane provided for safety.
