From Arpi Lake, head south on the main road towards the town of Artik. Continue driving until you reach the intersection near the village of Pagharchik. Here, take a right turn towards the direction of the highway leading to Gyumri. Follow this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the town of Gyumri. Once in Gyumri, look for signs directing you towards the border with Georgia, as Khanchali Lake is located just across the border. The drive will take about 1 hour and will involve crossing into Georgia. Be sure to have your passport ready, as there may be border checks. After crossing the border, follow the signs to Khanchali Lake, which is a short drive (approximately 15 kilometers) from the border.

To reach Khanchali Lake using public transportation, start from Arpi Lake and take a marshrutka (minibus) or bus heading to Gyumri. This journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Gyumri, you will need to take another marshrutka or taxi to the border crossing into Georgia. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they stop at the border. After crossing the border, you can catch a local taxi or arrange for a transport service that can take you directly to Khanchali Lake. Total travel time could take around 2 to 3 hours, including waiting times and transfers.
