From Geghard Monastery, exit the monastery area and head southeast on the main road. Follow the signs for Garni Temple. The distance is approximately 8 kilometers (about 15 minutes drive). As you approach Garni, look for the sign marking the entrance to the temple area. There is a parking area available for visitors.

Public Transportation
From Geghard Monastery, walk back to the main road where you can catch a minibus (marshrutka) heading to Garni. Make sure to signal the driver as the bus approaches. The fare is typically around 300 AMD (Armenian Dram). The ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Get off at the stop near Garni Temple, which is easy to recognize as it’s a popular tourist destination. From the bus stop, it’s a short walk to the temple entrance.

If you prefer to walk from Geghard Monastery to Garni Temple, you can take the scenic route. Start by heading down from the monastery towards the main road. Once on the road, turn right and follow it towards Garni. This route is approximately 8 kilometers and will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes along the way!
