From the main area of the Blue Mountains, such as Katoomba, drive south on the Great Western Highway (A32). Continue on A32 for approximately 30 minutes. You will pass through the town of Lithgow. Look for signs to Hartley Historic Site, which is located at 51 Old Great Western Hwy, Hartley NSW 2790. The site will be on your left. There is free parking available on-site.

Take a train from Katoomba Station to Lithgow Station. The journey takes about 45 minutes. From Lithgow Station, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to Hartley Historic Site, which is about a 15-minute drive (approximately 11 km). The cost of a taxi from Lithgow Station to Hartley Historic Site may vary, so it’s advisable to check fares in advance.
