If you are traveling by car, start your journey in Bathurst or Lithgow. From Bathurst, take the Great Western Highway (A32) towards Lithgow. Continue on the A32 until you reach the turnoff for Blackheath. Follow the signs for Blackheath and turn onto the Bells Line of Road (B59). After approximately 10 km, turn right onto Shipley Road. Follow Shipley Road for about 5 km, and you will reach Hargraves Lookout. The road is well-signed, and there is a parking area available at the lookout.

To reach Hargraves Lookout using public transportation, take a train from Sydney to Lithgow Station. From Lithgow Station, you can take a bus to Blackheath.
