From Southbank, head towards the Southbank Promenade and walk along the Yarra River. Continue walking until you reach the pedestrian bridge that leads to the city. Cross the bridge, and follow the signs to Flinders Street Station. Once you reach Flinders Street Station, exit onto Flinders Street and walk towards the intersection with Swanston Street. From there, take a left onto Swanston Street.

Public Transport - Tram
After turning left onto Swanston Street, walk to the nearest tram stop, which is located just a short distance away at the corner of Swanston and Flinders. Catch any tram heading towards East Melbourne (Routes 75 or 48). You will need a Myki card to travel, which can be purchased at any train station or convenience store. The fare for a single trip within the central area is approximately AUD 4.50. Get off at the 'Albert Street' tram stop, which is about 6 stops from the starting point.

After disembarking at Albert Street, walk along Albert Street towards the east until you reach Wellington Parade. Turn right on Wellington Parade and continue walking until you enter Fitzroy Gardens. Cooks' Cottage is located within Fitzroy Gardens, so follow the paths to find it. The cottage is a short walk from the entrance of the gardens.
