Car
If you're traveling by car, start by heading towards the town of Herberton from your location in Southern Queensland. Use the Bruce Highway (M1) to reach the Atherton Tablelands. From Cairns, take the Captain Cook Highway (A1) south to the Smithfield exit. Continue on the Captain Cook Highway until you reach the intersection with the Kennedy Highway (A1) and turn left. Follow the Kennedy Highway towards Atherton. As you approach Atherton, take the exit onto the Gillies Highway (B64) and follow the signs to Herberton. Once you enter Herberton, turn onto Broadway and look for Historic Village Herberton at 6 Broadway, Herberton QLD 4887. There is onsite parking available for visitors.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Cairns to Atherton. Check with local bus services such as Sunbus for the schedule. Upon reaching Atherton, transfer to a local bus that operates towards Herberton. Be sure to check the schedules in advance as the buses may not run frequently. Once you arrive in Herberton, it is a short walk to Historic Village Herberton located at 6 Broadway. Alternatively, consider booking a local taxi or rideshare service from Atherton to Herberton for convenience.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous and want to cycle to Historic Village Herberton, you can start from Atherton. The ride is approximately 15 kilometers and will take you through some scenic landscapes. Begin on the Kennedy Highway (A1), then look for signs directing you to Herberton. Ensure you have a map or GPS, as some sections may not have dedicated bike lanes. Be prepared for some inclines along the way, and always wear a helmet for safety.
