Car
If you are driving within Wilson's Promontory National Park, make your way to the Tidal River area, which serves as the main hub for visitors. From Tidal River, follow the signposts for the 'Whale Rock' walking trail. The trailhead is located near the Tidal River campground. It is a short drive (approximately 10 minutes) from the Tidal River car park to the start of the trail. Make sure to park in designated areas only.

Once you have parked your car, begin your hike to Whale Rock. The Whale Rock trail is well-marked and begins from the Tidal River area. The hike is approximately 2.6 kilometers one way and typically takes about 1 hour to reach the rock. The trail is moderately challenging, so be prepared with sturdy footwear and adequate water. Follow the signs along the path, and enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding landscape.
