Car
If you are driving within Wilson's Promontory National Park, head towards the Tidal River area. From Tidal River, take the road leading south towards the southern circuit trail. Continue on this road until you reach a fork. At the fork, take the left path that leads you closer to Leonard Bay. Follow the signs for the beaches and coastal areas, as Leonard Bay is located just a short distance from the main road. Keep an eye out for parking areas; parking is available nearby. Be aware that there may be parking fees, so bring some cash or a card just in case.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from Tidal River, start at the Tidal River campground and follow the walking trails that lead south. The walk to Leonard Bay is approximately 4 kilometers (about 2.5 miles) and will take you through scenic coastal landscapes. Follow the signs for either the Lilly Pilly Gully or the Squeaky Beach trail, both of which lead you towards Leonard Bay. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as this is a moderately challenging walk.
Public Transportation
Public transport options are limited in Wilson's Promontory. The nearest bus service is to Tidal River. From Melbourne, take a V/Line bus to Foster, and then a local shuttle bus to Tidal River. Once you arrive at Tidal River, you will need to either walk to Leonard Bay (as described above) or drive if you have access to a rental car.
