Getting There

• Public Transport

  If you are in Eisenstadt, start by heading to the Eisenstadt train station (Eisenstadt Bahnhof). From there, take a train to Vienna. The journey usually takes around 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Wien Hauptbahnhof (Vienna Central Station), exit the station and head to the nearby U-Bahn (subway) station called 'Hauptbahnhof'. Take the U1 line (red line) in the direction of 'Stephansplatz'. Get off at the 'Karlsplatz' station. From Karlsplatz, transfer to the U2 line (purple line) and head towards 'Karlsplatz'. Get off at 'Schottentor' station. Exit the station and walk for about 10 minutes to reach Votive Church located at Rooseveltplatz, 1090 Wien.

• Walking

  If you are already in the city center of Eisenstadt, you can simply walk to the Eisenstadt train station. Once there, follow the directions provided above for the train journey to Vienna and continuing to Votive Church. The train station in Eisenstadt is about a 15-minute walk from the city center.

• Taxi

  You can also take a taxi from anywhere in Eisenstadt directly to the Eisenstadt train station. Once there, follow the instructions for the train and U-Bahn as mentioned above. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can take a taxi directly from Eisenstadt to Votive Church in Vienna, but this will be more expensive and take approximately 1.5 hours depending on traffic.
