Walking
Start at the Hallstatt market square (Marktplatz), which is a central point in the village. From the market square, head east on the main street (Landungsplatz) toward the lake. Continue along the waterfront until you reach the end of the road, where you will see a path leading uphill. Follow this path, which is called Kirchenweg, and it will take you directly to the Pfarrkirche Mariä Himmelfahrt (Maria am Berg). The church is located at Kirchenweg 40, and you will see the church steeple as you approach. The walk should take about 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace.

Walking
If you are near the funicular railway station (Zahnradbahn), take the funicular up to the viewpoint. Once you exit the funicular, follow the signs towards the church. You’ll have a beautiful view of Hallstatt and the lake as you make your way down toward the church. The walk from the funicular station to the Pfarrkirche Mariä Himmelfahrt will take about 10-15 minutes.
