Start at Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Take the bus line 4136 towards 'Sölden' or 'Obergurgl'. You will need to get off at the stop 'Pflaz' (approximately a 30-minute ride). From the bus stop, follow the signs for the hiking trail leading to Drachensee. The trailhead is located just a short walk away from the bus stop. The hike to Drachensee takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace, and is well-marked, so follow the signs for 'Drachensee'.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can also hike directly to Drachensee from Innsbruck. Start at the Nordkette cable car station (Nordkettenbahnen) which you can reach by taking tram line 1 from the city center to 'Hungerburg'. Take the cable car up to 'Seegrube'. From Seegrube, follow the marked hiking trails towards Drachensee. This route offers stunning views but is more challenging, so ensure you have proper hiking gear and enough time. The hike will take roughly 3-4 hours one way.
