Getting There

  • Train

    From Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take a train towards Jenbach. Trains run frequently, so check the schedule for exact times. The journey takes about 40 minutes. Upon arrival at Jenbach station, follow the signs to the bus terminal located right outside the train station.

  • Bus

    At the Jenbach bus terminal, board the Zillertalbahn bus (line 4102) towards Mayrhofen. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at Mayrhofen, which is the main town in the Zillertal valley.

  • Another Bus

    At Mayrhofen, transfer to the bus heading to Hintertux (line 4103). The bus frequency is approximately every 30 minutes. The ride to Hintertux Glacier will take about 20 minutes. Make sure to alight at the last stop, which is the Hintertux Glacier cable car station.

  • Cable Car

    From the Hintertux Glacier cable car station, you can take the Gletscherbus 1 cable car to reach the glacier itself. The ride offers stunning views, and once at the top, you will have access to various skiing and snowboarding areas.
