    If you're near Mirabell Palace, walk towards the Salzach River and cross the Staatsbrücke. Once across, follow the signs towards Kapuzinerberg. You can ascend via the Imbergstiege, a staircase leading directly to Hettwer Bastei, or take the Basteiweg. The walk from Mirabell Palace takes approximately 20 minutes. There are no costs involved.

    From Salzburg Hbf (main train station), take a bus to Mirabellplatz. From Mirabellplatz, walk towards the Salzach River and cross the Staatsbrücke. Follow the signs to Kapuzinerberg and ascend to Hettwer Bastei via the Imbergstiege or Basteiweg. A single bus ticket costs approximately €3.00 if purchased on board, or less if purchased in advance via the Salzburg Verkehr App.

  • Car

    From the A1 motorway, take the exit towards Salzburg Zentrum and follow signs to Mirabell Palace. Parking is available in the Mirabell parking garage, but fees apply, typically around €2 per hour. From the parking garage, walk towards the Salzach River and follow the walking directions to Hettwer Bastei.
