Located in the Shamakhi region of Azerbaijan, the Pir Omar Shirvani Tomb is a significant historical and spiritual site. It is dedicated to Pir Omar Shirvani, an important figure in the Khalwatiyya Sufi order, who passed away in July 1409. Pir Omar Shirvani was the founder of the secret school of secrecy, a notable branch of Azerbaijani Sufism. He was known for his wisdom, piety, and dedication to the Sufi path. The tomb itself is a modest structure built with hewn river and rock stones. Archaeological expeditions show the tomb chamber measures about 5x5 meters. Inside, a special chair was set up for visitors to sit and recite prayers. A memorial stone depicting an altar, bordered by a Seljuk chain, stands in front of the southern wall, showcasing Seljuk art. Archaeological research has uncovered significant artifacts, including tombstones, tombs, stoneware, ceramics, and coins. The tomb inscription reveals Pir Omar's death date and his revered status as a "sheikh," "zahid," and "abid". Today, the tomb offers a tranquil atmosphere for contemplation.
