Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the heart of Serra dos Órgãos National Park, head towards the BR-040 highway. Exit the park through the main entrance and follow the signs to BR-040. Once on BR-040, head towards Petrópolis. Continue for approximately 30 km until you see signs for Itaipava. Take the exit towards Itaipava. After exiting, follow the signs to Mirante da Serra, which is located at the top of the mountain. There may be a parking fee, so be prepared with some cash or a card.

  To reach Mirante da Serra using public transportation, start by taking a local bus from the park to the nearest town. You can take a bus heading towards Petrópolis. Upon reaching the bus terminal in Petrópolis, transfer to a bus that goes to Itaipava. Once in Itaipava, you can either walk or take a taxi to the Mirante da Serra. The bus fare from the park to Petrópolis will cost around R$ 15 and the fare from Petrópolis to Itaipava is approximately R$ 6. Taxi fares may vary depending on the distance.
