Walking
Start at the Carmel Plaza located at Ocean Ave & Mission St. Head south on Mission St towards 7th Ave. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Ocean Ave. Turn left onto Ocean Ave and walk until you reach the intersection with Scenic Rd. Turn right onto Scenic Rd and follow it as it curves along the coastline. Keep walking until you reach the junction with CA-1 (Pacific Coast Highway). At this point, you will need to cross CA-1 carefully, ensuring to watch for traffic. Once across, continue walking south on the highway sidewalk until you reach Garrapata State Park Vista Point, which is about 2 miles from your starting point. The Vista Point will be on your left, offering stunning views of the ocean.

Bicycling
From the Carmel Plaza, head south on Mission St towards 7th Ave. Turn left onto Ocean Ave and then right onto Scenic Rd. Follow Scenic Rd as it curves along the coast. Once you reach CA-1, carefully cross to the opposite side of the highway. Continue riding south on the highway sidewalk. The distance to Garrapata State Park Vista Point is approximately 2 miles from Carmel Plaza. Look for the Vista Point sign on your left as you approach.
