Walking
Start at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and San Carlos Street in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Head south on San Carlos Street until you reach 7th Avenue. Turn right and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Highway 1. At this point, you can catch the Monterey-Salinas Transit bus (Line 22) towards Big Sur. Get off at the Garrapata State Park stop. The Bluff Trailhead is located directly at the parking lot area. Walk towards the trail access point from the parking lot.

If you have a bicycle, begin your journey at the Carmel Plaza on Ocean Avenue. Ride south along the Coastal Trail, which is a scenic route. Continue on the path until you reach the intersection with Highway 1. At the junction, carefully navigate to the Garrapata State Park entrance. The Bluff Trailhead is right across from the parking lot. Lock your bike at the designated area before heading onto the trail.

From the center of Carmel-by-the-Sea, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Ocean Avenue and San Carlos Street. Take the Monterey-Salinas Transit bus (Line 22) towards Big Sur. Stay on the bus until you reach the Garrapata State Park stop. The Bluff Trail is accessible directly from the parking lot at the park. Follow the path from the parking area to the trailhead.
