Driving

For central access, use the Half Moon Bay State Beach parking lots (Francis, Venice, Dunes, Roosevelt Beaches). Parking fees at Half Moon Bay State Beach lots are typically $10 per day. Be aware that these lots can fill up quickly on weekends and during peak season, so arrive early.
Public Transport

SamTrans routes 117 and 294 serve Half Moon Bay. From the Main Street and Poplar Street stop, it's a short walk or bike ride to connect with the Coastal Trail. SamTrans Ride Plus also offers on-demand transport in Half Moon Bay. A single ride on SamTrans costs around $2-$3. SamCoast, a curb-to-curb shared ride service, is also available in the area for $4.25 per trip ($1.75 for low-income passengers), but trips must be scheduled at least one day in advance.
Walking/Cycling

If you are already in Half Moon Bay, access the trail from numerous points along the coast. From downtown, head west towards the ocean. Look for marked trailheads near Kelly Avenue (Francis Beach), Young Avenue (Dunes Beach), or Venice Boulevard (Venice Beach). The trail is well-signed. Bike rentals are available in Half Moon Bay if you prefer to cycle the trail.
