Walking
The final approach to Lake Haiyaha is on foot, starting from the Bear Lake Trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park. From the parking area, follow the signs towards Nymph Lake and Dream Lake. After approximately 1 mile, you'll reach a junction; turn left towards Lake Haiyaha. The trail then climbs through a pine forest before navigating a rocky section to reach the lake. Be prepared for some boulder scrambling near the shoreline. Note that from May 27 to October 10, timed entry permits are required to enter most areas of Rocky Mountain National Park between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. To access the Bear Lake Road Corridor, timed entry permits are in effect from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Timed Entry Permit Reservations can only be booked online. One Timed Entry Permit Reservation is $2.00 and non-refundable.

Shuttle
During peak season, parking at Bear Lake Trailhead is limited. The park offers a free shuttle bus service that stops at various locations within the park, including the Bear Lake Trailhead. From Estes Park, take the free shuttle to the park & ride. From the park & ride, take the Bear Lake Route to the Bear Lake Trailhead. Check the Rocky Mountain National Park website for the shuttle schedule and route information. There is no cost for the shuttle service, but a park entrance fee or pass is required to enter Rocky Mountain National Park.
