    From downtown Gunnison, head east on E Virginia Ave. Continue for about 0.5 miles. I.O.O.F. Park is located at 124 E Virginia Ave, just past the intersection with S 1st St. The park will be on your right, marked by a small sign and a pedestrian bridge.

    Check the Gunnison Valley RTA bus service for routes that stop near E Virginia Ave. The bus is free. Get off at the closest stop to E Virginia Ave and walk east for about two blocks to reach I.O.O.F. Park.

  • Car

    If driving, head towards 124 E Virginia Ave, Gunnison, CO 81230. From the center of Gunnison, take N Main St and turn onto E Virginia Ave. Continue east for about two blocks. The park will be on your left, just before the intersection with S 1st St. Parking is available nearby on the street.

I.O.O.F. Park, located at 124 E Virginia Ave in Gunnison, Colorado, is a beloved community space offering a tranquil escape. The park's history is rooted in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF), an international fraternal organization founded in North America in 1819. The Gunnison IOOF Lodge 39 was built on this site in 1916, serving the community with the IOOF's mission to 'visit the sick, relieve the distressed, bury the dead and educate the orphan'. The building was destroyed by fire on January 1, 1991. The city officially purchased the lot in 2014 and converted it into a public park, ensuring the IOOF's contributions were remembered. Today, I.O.O.F. Park features inviting green lawns perfect for picnics and relaxation. A charming wooden pedestrian bridge adds a touch of whimsy and provides a picturesque backdrop. Families can enjoy the picnic tables and a mini splash pad during the warmer months. A gas-fired ring provides warmth on chilly evenings.
