Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head to Nederland, Colorado. From Boulder, take US-36 W towards Estes Park. After approximately 16 miles, turn left onto CO-119 N. Continue on CO-119 N for about 8 miles until you reach Nederland. Once in Nederland, follow the signs to the center of town. Turn onto Lakeview Drive, and you will find the Carousel of Happiness at 20 Lakeview Dr, Nederland, CO 80466. Parking is available nearby, but note that some areas may require a small fee.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, start by taking the RTD bus from Boulder. Board the H route bus at the Boulder Transit Center heading to Nederland. The bus ride takes approximately 50 minutes. Once you arrive in Nederland, exit the bus and walk to the Carousel of Happiness located at 20 Lakeview Dr. It's about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop to the carousel. Make sure to check the RTD schedule for return times, as service may be limited.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer biking, consider cycling from Boulder to Nederland. The route is approximately 16 miles and is mostly along CO-119 N. Follow the designated bike lanes and ensure to wear a helmet. Upon reaching Nederland, turn onto Lakeview Drive to access the Carousel of Happiness. This method offers a scenic view of the surrounding mountains, but be prepared for elevation changes and traffic.
