Train
From Greenwich, head to the Greenwich Metro-North train station located at 2 Railroad Ave. Purchase a ticket to New York City. Get on the train heading towards Grand Central Terminal, which is the main station in Manhattan. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Grand Central, follow the signs for the 42nd Street exit.
Walk
After exiting Grand Central Terminal, walk west along 42nd Street. Continue straight for about 6 blocks until you reach 7th Avenue. Turn right (north) onto 7th Avenue and walk for about 3 blocks. Madison Square Garden will be on your left at 4 Pennsylvania Plaza, just past the intersection with W 33rd Street.
Subway
After arriving at Grand Central Terminal, you can also take the subway. Follow the signs to the 7 train (Flushing Local) and board the train at Grand Central. Travel one stop to Times Square-42nd Street. At Times Square, transfer to the 1, 2, or 3 train heading towards 34th Street-Penn Station. Get off at 34th Street-Penn Station, and you will exit right at Madison Square Garden, which is located at 4 Pennsylvania Plaza.
