Getting There
Train
To reach the West Village in New York City from Greenwich, start by making your way to the Greenwich Metro-North train station located at 2 Railroad Avenue. Once you arrive at the station, purchase a ticket to Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. Board the train and enjoy the scenic ride, which takes approximately 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Grand Central, follow the signs to the S subway line (yellow line) and take the S train towards Times Square. After one stop, at Times Square, transfer to the 1 subway line (red line) towards South Ferry. Ride for approximately 4 stops and get off at the Christopher Street station. Exit the subway and you will be in the West Village, with plenty of cafes and shops to explore.
Bus
To travel to the West Village from Greenwich using the bus, head to the nearest bus stop that services the Metro-North train line. Take the CT Transit Bus Route 10 towards Stamford. After about 20 minutes, get off at the Stamford train station. Purchase a ticket for the Metro-North train to Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. Once you arrive at Grand Central, take the S train towards Times Square, transfer to the 1 subway line towards South Ferry at Times Square, and get off at the Christopher Street station. You'll be in the heart of the West Village, ready to explore.
Walking and Subway
If you're in central Greenwich, start by walking to the nearest Metro-North train station at 2 Railroad Avenue. Upon arrival, purchase a ticket to Grand Central Terminal. The train ride will take about 50 minutes. Once at Grand Central, follow the signs to the subway and take the S train towards Times Square. After one stop, transfer to the 1 subway line towards South Ferry for about 4 stops. Get off at the Christopher Street station, where you can explore the West Village right outside the subway exit.
