Walking
From Avarua, head west along the main road (Ara Tapu) towards the Arorangi District. You will pass several shops and cafes along the way. Continue walking for approximately 6 kilometers. As you approach the Arorangi District, you will notice the road curving towards the lagoon. Keep an eye out for signs indicating 'Aroa Lagoon Marine Reserve'. When you reach the intersection near the Aroa Beach, turn left and walk towards the beach area. The marine reserve is accessible from the beach.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Avarua. Once you have your bike, ride west along Ara Tapu Road towards the Arorangi District. It's about a 6-kilometer ride, and you will enjoy the scenic views along the coast. Look for the signs for 'Aroa Lagoon Marine Reserve' as you approach the Arorangi area. When you reach Aroa Beach, you can park your bike and access the marine reserve right from the beach.

Public Transport (Bus)
Take a local bus from Avarua heading towards Arorangi. The buses are usually marked with their destination, so make sure to check for 'Arorangi'. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at Aroa Beach or near the entrance to Aroa Lagoon Marine Reserve. From there, it's a short walk to the beach where you can access the marine reserve.
