Walking
From the center of Avarua, head west along the main road (Ara Tapu). You will pass by local shops and cafes. Continue walking for approximately 4.5 kilometers (about an hour on foot) until you reach the Arorangi District. Look for signs indicating Aroa Beach. The beach is located on the left side of the road, just after you pass the entrance to the popular Aroa Beachside Inn.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Avarua. Start your journey heading west on Ara Tapu. It’s a smooth ride, and you should be able to reach Aroa Beach in about 15-20 minutes. Keep an eye out for the Arorangi District sign, and Aroa Beach will be on your left after passing the Aroa Beachside Inn.

Catch the local bus from the main bus stop in Avarua heading toward Arorangi. Buses run approximately every hour. Inform the driver that you are going to Aroa Beach. The bus will drop you off near the entrance to the beach. From there, it’s a short walk to the beach area.
