From the center of Avatiu, head west along the main road (Ara Tapu). Continue walking for approximately 3.5 kilometers. You will pass through Avarua, the capital of Rarotonga, so you can stop for refreshments or ask locals for directions if needed. Keep an eye out for the signs pointing towards Arorangi. Once you reach the Arorangi District, look for the signs indicating Aroa Lagoon Marine Reserve. The entrance is located near the beachfront area.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride from Avatiu to Aroa Lagoon Marine Reserve. Begin by taking Ara Tapu road heading west. It’s a straight route of about 3.5 kilometers. Upon reaching Arorangi District, follow the signs to the Marine Reserve, where you can park your bicycle safely.
