    The Old City of Dubrovnik is primarily a pedestrian zone. From Pile Gate, the main entrance, walk straight ahead onto Stradun, the main street, and explore the city's landmarks, shops, and restaurants. Note that the Old Town has many steps and may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

  • Public Transport

    If arriving by bus at the main bus station, take bus lines 1A, 1B, 3, or 8 to Pile Gate, the main entrance to the Old City. Bus tickets cost €1.73 if purchased at a kiosk or €1.99 when bought on the bus. A 24-hour bus pass is available for €5.31. From Pile Gate, enter the Old City on foot.

  • Taxi/Ride-Sharing

    Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber and Bolt can drop you off at Pile Gate or Ploče Gate, the two main entrances to the Old City. Taxis cannot enter the Old Town. From Dubrovnik Airport to the Old Town, a taxi will cost approximately €45-€51. Within the city, taxi fares have a base fare of €3.36, plus €1.08 per kilometer. Be sure to have cash in the local currency, as not all taxis accept credit cards.

    Parking is not permitted within the Old City walls. The closest parking options include the Ilijina Glavica garage, located a 10-15 minute walk from the Old Town, with hourly rates around €7 and daily rates around €40. Dubrovnik City Parking, near Gruž bay, offers hourly rates of €2.90 and a daily rate of €23.20, with a bus stop nearby for transport to the Old Town. Be aware that parking can be limited and expensive, especially during peak season.
