Car
If you are driving from the Dover area, start by getting onto DE-1 S from Dover. Follow DE-1 S for approximately 24 miles. Take the exit toward DE-26 E, then turn right onto DE-26 E. After about 3 miles, turn left onto Cape Henlopen Drive. Continue straight until you reach Cape Henlopen State Park, where Fort Miles Historical Area is located. There is a parking fee of $5 per vehicle.

Public Transportation
To reach Fort Miles Historical Area via public transportation, you can take the DART First State Bus Route 204 from Downtown Dover to Lewes. Get off at the bus stop near Cape Henlopen State Park. From there, it is about a half-mile walk to the entrance of the park. Please check the DART First State website for the latest bus schedules and fare information.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can bike from Dover to Fort Miles. Follow the same route as driving, using DE-1 S and then DE-26 E. There are bike lanes available for most of the trip. Once you reach Cape Henlopen State Park, you can park your bike at the entrance. Remember to bring a lock for security.
