Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, set your GPS to Sønderbro 1, 6400 Sønderborg. From the E45 highway, take exit 66 toward Sønderborg. Follow the signs to the city center and then to the castle. There is parking available near the castle, but be aware that there may be a fee for parking, which typically ranges from 10 to 20 DKK per hour.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  For those using public transportation, take a regional bus to Sønderborg. Buses from cities like Aabenraa and Haderslev frequently service this route. Once you arrive at Sønderborg bus station, which is centrally located, it is about a 15-minute walk to the castle. Exit the bus station, head south on Jernbanegade, turn left onto Nørrebrogade, and follow it until you reach Sønderbro. The castle will be on your left.

• Public Transportation - Train

  If you are coming from larger cities such as Odense or Kolding, you might prefer taking a train to Sønderborg. Purchase a ticket to Sønderborg Station. From the station, you can either take a short bus ride to the castle or walk, which takes approximately 20 minutes. To walk, exit the station, head south on Jernbanegade, turn left onto Nørrebrogade, and continue straight until you reach Sønderbro. The castle will be on your left.
