After approximately 30 km, you will reach the junction to Laguna de Oviedo. Turn left onto the paved road that leads directly to the lagoon. Continue for about 10 km until you reach the entrance of the Laguna de Oviedo National Park. Look for signs indicating the park entrance. Be aware that there may be a small entrance fee, typically around 100 Dominican Pesos (approximately $2 USD). Once inside the park, follow the signs to the lagoon, which is approximately another 5 km from the entrance.

For those opting for public transportation, take a bus or guagua (shared minivan) from Neiba to Pedernales. Ensure to ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for Laguna de Oviedo. The bus ride costs around 100 Dominican Pesos (approximately $2 USD) and takes about 45 minutes. From the junction, you may need to hire a local moto-taxi (motorcycle taxi) to take you the remaining 10 km to the lagoon. The cost for a moto-taxi should be around 200-300 Dominican Pesos (approximately $4-6 USD). Confirm the price before starting the journey. Once you reach the park entrance, you may also have to pay the entrance fee, as mentioned previously.
