If you are driving, head towards the entrance of the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, which is approximately 5 kilometers from the nearest town, Lago Agrio. From Lago Agrio, take the paved road east until you reach the Cuyabeno entrance. At the entrance, you will need to pay an entrance fee to enter the reserve, which is approximately $10 per person. After entering the reserve, follow the signs directing you to Cuyabeno River Lodge, which is located deep within the reserve, and may require navigating through dirt roads.

To reach Cuyabeno River Lodge by public transportation, take a bus from Quito or Lago Agrio to the town of Cuyabeno. Buses from Quito to Lago Agrio typically cost around $10-$15 and take about 8-9 hours. Once you arrive in Lago Agrio, you can take a taxi or a shared taxi to the Cuyabeno entrance. The taxi ride costs approximately $15-$20. After arriving at the entrance to the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, you will have to pay an entrance fee of about $10 per person. From there, you may need to arrange for a canoe ride, which is typically included in the lodge package, to get to the lodge itself, as it is located a few kilometers away from the entrance.
