Getting There

Walking
From the center of Runavík, start at the main square (Lítla Torv). Head northwest on the main road (Gøtugøta) towards the Funningur direction. Continue walking along this road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the road leading to Funningur. At the junction, take a right onto the road (Funningarvegur). Keep walking straight for approximately 2 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views. After about 2 kilometers, you will reach a parking area near the trailhead for Gongutúrur / Hvithamar. The trailhead is marked and should be easily visible from the road.

Public Transport
From the center of Runavík, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Gøtugøta. Take bus number 300 towards Funningur. The bus ride will take around 10-15 minutes. Get off at the 'Funningur' bus stop. From there, continue walking for about 1 kilometer along the road (Funningarvegur) until you reach the Gongutúrur / Hvithamar Trailhead. The trailhead will be on your left side, marked clearly.
