Travel Guide to Plage de l'Impérial

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from the Annecy train station, exit the station and head northeast toward Avenue de la Gare. Turn left onto Avenue de la Gare and walk straight until you reach the Canal de Vassé. Follow the canal to your right along the Promenade du Thiou. Continue straight, passing under the bridge, until you reach the end of the canal where it meets Lake Annecy. Turn left along the lakefront path, following it south towards Plage de l'Impérial. After about 15-20 minutes of walking, look for the sign for Plage de l'Impérial at 30 Avenue d'Albigny, where you'll find the beach area.

• Public Bus

  From the Annecy town center, walk to the bus stop at 'Hotel de Ville.' Take bus line 2 towards 'Albigny – Plage.' The bus ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Albigny – Plage.' From there, it's a short walk to Plage de l'Impérial. You will see the beach access directly ahead at 30 Avenue d'Albigny.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Annecy. Start at the bicycle path along the lake, heading south. Follow the path which will lead you directly to Plage de l'Impérial. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes from the central area of Annecy. Look for the beach access at 30 Avenue d'Albigny as you approach the beach.
