Walking
From the main village of Maupiti, head towards the beach area. You can start your journey at the local grocery store, located near the center of the village. Once you exit the store, walk towards the shoreline and continue along the beach path heading west. As you stroll along the scenic beach, you'll pass small local shops and stunning views of the lagoon. Keep walking until you reach the end of the beach where the path will lead you into a more rugged area. This path will take you towards the base of Mount Te'urafa'atiu.
Hiking
Once you arrive at the base of Mount Te'urafa'atiu, you will find a marked trail that begins your ascent. Ensure you have sturdy shoes and plenty of water. Follow the trail, which is well-trodden but can be steep at times. The hike will take approximately 1-2 hours depending on your fitness level. Along the way, enjoy the lush vegetation and local wildlife. As you near the summit, the trail may become rockier, so take your time.
