Bus
From Papeete, take the bus towards Hitiaa O Te Ra. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 3 minutes. Get off near Papeno'o and walk towards the coastline for about 10-15 minutes along the main road. As of July 2025, bus services between Papeete and Hitiaa are operated by French Polynesia Buses and depart every three hours. A single bus ticket should cost around $3-$5.

From Taravao in Tahiti Iti, head southeast on Route de la Plage (N2) for approximately 15 kilometers. Look for the sign indicating Hitiaa O Te Ra. Navigate towards the coordinates 9H48+FFM. There will be a small unpaved road leading to the site with a parking area. The site is a short walk from the parking area. Expect to pay for gas, as well as potential parking fees. Parking is limited.
