If you are already in Ypao Beach Park, head towards the main paths leading away from the beach area. Continue walking straight until you reach Pale San Vitores Road. Ypao Beach Parking is located directly on this road. Look for signs indicating the park entrance.

Public Transport

From Guam Airport, take the bus towards Kmart, Tamuning. Services depart four times a day, and the journey takes approximately 5 minutes. From Kmart, Ypao Beach Park is a short walk away. The Guam Regional Transit Authority operates the bus. Tickets cost $2–5.

Ypao Beach, officially named Governor Joseph Flores Beach Park, is a beloved coastal gem in the heart of Tumon, Guam. Despite its official name, locals still affectionately call it Ypao Beach. This picturesque park boasts a wide, sandy beach and crystal-clear waters, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing.The park is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, offering a range of amenities including grassy picnic areas, covered seating, BBQ pits, walking paths, and an outdoor shower. A bandstand and amphitheater host regular events, concerts, and cultural festivals, making it a hub of activity. Ypao Beach is also a marine preserve, ensuring an abundance of colorful fish and coral gardens for snorkelers to explore just a few meters from the shore.Historically, the area holds significance as an ancient Chamorro burial ground. During the American naval era, a leper colony was established at Ypao in 1902, which lasted until 1912 when the inhabitants were moved to the Philippines. Today, Ypao Beach is a vibrant gathering place, hosting events like the Guam Micronesia Island Fair, the Japan Autumn Festival, and the Ko'Ko' Road Race.
