If you're driving to Gljúfrasmiður from any point in Fimmvorduhals Pass, start by heading south on Route 1 (the Ring Road). Continue until you reach the intersection with Route 26, which leads towards the highlands. Follow Route 26 for approximately 10 km until you see the signs for Gljúfrasmiður. Turn off onto Öskjuleið, which will lead you to the canyon area. The last stretch might require a 4x4 vehicle due to rough terrain. Parking is usually available at designated areas near the canyon. Please note that there may be a small parking fee, so keep some cash handy.
