Car
From Hengifoss Waterfall, head back towards the main road (Route 1). Turn left onto Route 1 and continue for approximately 35 kilometers (about 25 minutes) until you reach the town of Eskifjörður. Once in Eskifjörður, follow the signs to Strandgata Street. The East Iceland Maritime Museum is located at Strandgata 39b, which should be on your left. There is free parking available nearby.

From Hengifoss Waterfall, you will need to drive or take a taxi to the nearest bus station that serves Route 1. Once you reach the bus stop on Route 1, look for a bus heading towards Eskifjörður. The bus ride will take about an hour and you will need to get off at the Eskifjörður stop. From the bus stop, walk towards Strandgata Street, and the East Iceland Maritime Museum will be a short walk away at Strandgata 39b. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited, and ticket prices vary based on the operator.
