Car
If you are driving from the Vatnajökull National Park Visitor Center, head northwest on Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards the town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. After about 30 km, turn onto Route 208, which leads you to the Landmannaleið road. Continue on Route 208 for approximately 23 km until you reach the junction with Landmannaleið (F-road 208). This road is a highland track and may require a 4x4 vehicle, especially in wet conditions. Follow Landmannaleið for about 15 km until you reach the entrance of Fjallabak Nature Reserve. Be aware of potential river crossings and check the weather conditions before you set out.
