From Akureyri, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading south. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 90 km until you reach the junction for Route 30. Turn left onto Route 30 and continue for about 24 km until you reach the junction for Route 31. Turn left onto Route 31 and drive for another 15 km. You will see signs for Stöng, Viking-era Long house. Follow the signs to the parking area, where you can leave your car and walk to the site.

From Akureyri, take the Strætó bus (Route 57) heading towards Húsavík. You will need to get off at the stop for Þingvellir (this route may vary, so check the schedule in advance). From there, you will need to call a local taxi service to take you directly to Stöng, as public transportation does not go directly to the site. The taxi ride will take about 20 minutes and will incur an approximate cost of 5,000 ISK.
