Hiking
To reach Panorama Ridge from the Skaftafell Visitor Centre, start by heading west on the main path leading into the park. Follow the signs toward the Svartifoss waterfall, which is approximately a 1.5 km (0.9 miles) hike. After visiting Svartifoss, continue your journey by taking the trail that branches off toward Panorama Ridge. The hike to Panorama Ridge is about 3 km (1.9 miles) from Svartifoss, and it will take you through beautiful landscapes. Expect to spend around 2-3 hours to reach Panorama Ridge, depending on your pace and the number of stops you take to enjoy the scenery.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you can take a bus from Reykjavik to Skaftafell National Park. Buses operate regularly, and you can check schedules through the local bus service websites. Once you arrive at the Skaftafell bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 1 km (0.6 miles) to the Skaftafell Visitor Centre where the hiking trails begin. From there, follow the hiking instructions provided above to reach Panorama Ridge.

If you are driving, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) and then follow the signs to Skaftafell National Park. Park your vehicle at the Skaftafell Visitor Centre parking lot. The parking fee is typically around ISK 1,000 (approx. $7) for the day. From the Visitor Centre, follow the main path towards Svartifoss and then continue onto the trail to Panorama Ridge as described previously.
