Car
If you are traveling by car within Vatnajökull National Park, head towards the town of Höfn. From Höfn, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) and drive east for approximately 40 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 998. Turn onto Route 998, following the signs for Múlagljúfur Canyon and Morsárdalur. Continue on Route 998 for about 15 kilometers, where you will find a parking area for Morsárfoss. The hike to Morsárfoss begins from there.

Public Transportation
While public transportation options are limited in this remote area, you can take a bus from Reykjavík to Höfn via the Strætó bus service. Once you arrive in Höfn, you will need to arrange a taxi service to take you to the Múlagljúfur Canyon area, as public transport does not reach Morsárfoss directly. Confirm taxi availability in advance, as they may not be readily available. Expect the taxi fare to be approximately 10,000 ISK for the trip to the trailhead.

Hiking
After parking your car or arriving via taxi, you will need to hike approximately 4 kilometers along the well-marked trail towards Morsárfoss. The trail starts at the parking area and leads you through stunning landscapes, including views of glaciers and the surrounding mountains. The hike can take around 1-2 hours depending on your pace, so be sure to wear appropriate hiking gear and bring water and snacks.
